Reporting to the Application Operations Services Lead, your primary goal is to provide a stable and reliable operating environment for production systems and services used by the organization and the members. The support of Servus Credit Union's information systems is business critical. The System Operations team operates 7x24x365.

This position performs the day-to-day activities required to operate, monitor and maintain the systems as well as provide first line support when system related incidents occur. If the IS System Operator is unable to resolve a production issue they escalate according to the pre-defined escalation procedure.

The System Operator follows established procedures to ensure continued processing and running of critical banking and IS operations services. Additionally, the Systems Operator is required to perform daily batch file processing, file transfers and processing, backups/restores, escalations to internal or external stakeholders for production related issues, and incident/event management. The operator must apply appropriate responses and escalation procedures to ensure unplanned outages are minimized.

The incumbent must be able to work day or night shifts as scheduled. Must be able to work independently while following documented procedures. Must have effective written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with IS resources, 3rd party vendors and business stakeholders. Ability to complete detail-oriented tasks according to instructions and to demonstrate responsibility for outcomes. Ability to work in a team environment that provides assistance and support to co-workers to achieve common goals. Ability to troubleshoot and quickly resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask, adapt and cope with challenging and changing situations. Positive attitude, punctuality and solid work ethic.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Monitor and operate systems, processes, jobs and events 7x24x365. Monitor data centre facilities. Monitor network status of all locations. Back-up and restore files. Restore services when systems fail. Log, escalate and resolve all production incidents. Manage, schedule, run and monitor Secure File Transfers. Process all production batch jobs per schedule. Responds to and resolves system and production failures as required. Shift reporting Support technical releases. ·Support major incident response. Ticket/task management.
