This position aides in the coordination of crucial aspects of pre-semester online course delivery and term launch requirements. Ensuring that quality courses are rendered in the learning management system on time, and live course issues are resolved timely, requires a professional that is technologically advanced and pivots quickly with solutions and implementations. This specialist role provides support for escalated faculty LMS issues that cannot be resolved by other available technical support means. Working daily within the CoSW’s LMS ticketing system will be required, as well as adherence to all reporting structures and quality assurance metrics. These efforts facilitate a consistent workflow across CoSW’s instructional tech and design unit, as well as with faculty and administration.
Establishing effective baselines for course and service improvements and continually building momentum in semester workflows are necessary. The specialist follows directives from administration and internal stakeholders to ensure proper LMS infrastructure and stays abreast of all related industry innovations necessary to enhance the CoSW LMS student experience. Strategic launch processes, term course rollout preparations, and bulk automations are essential for scalability each semester. Instructional design and ed tech initiatives, as well as quality assurance responsibilities, may be delegated to this position under the supervision of the AD of Teaching & Learning. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Required Skills: advanced knowledge of Canvas LMS working knowledge of troubleshooting and front line support for a learning management platform working knowledge of CSS/JavaScript working knowledge of basic HTML general internet and web troubleshooting skills experience administering educational technology software effective oral and written communication excellent attention to detail and organizational skills ability to multitask and work independently in a changing environment Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
