The successful candidate will help our ES62/ECLSS Team in supporting the various workloads we do every day. Support will include task to assist ECLSS Engineers and Senior Level Technicians with testing, modifications and maintenance of test equipment, operating test stands, and other ground support equipment. You will also get the opportunity to work alongside our engineer’s and senior level technicians, learn from them in the areas of Environmental Control Life Support (ECLSS) and Advanced Exploration Systems (AES), and Life Support Systems (LSS). This position is intended to be for a work timeframe of 3 months.

Educational requirement is enrollment in an accredited college or university program leading to a BS degree in Engineering or related STEM field. ABET accreditation desired.
Must possess the ability to use a variety of hand tools, ladders, portable elevated work platforms, and stairs.Ability to work in awkward spaces due to curvature and floor levels of ECLSS Development Branch Simulators.
Maintain all safety certifications pertinent to the ECLSS Development Branch.
Work as part of a team of engineers, technicians, and chemists to provide ECLSS Development Branch test support for NASA while maintaining a strong consciousness about safety.
Knowledge of testing instrumentation and equipment is a plus, but not required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is highly desired.
Teamwork and partnering skills are required.
The selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, automobile liability insurance and successfully complete a company defensive driving training class. Must be able to provide own transportation.

80% Engineering and Technician shadowing and OJT (In the areas of engineering, mechanical, electrical/wiring, plumbing) 5-10% computer work/training, 5-10% physical labor.
Office and laboratory environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Requires travel only onsite at MSFC (Marshall Space Flight Center).
Physical Requirements\:
Requires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at NASA facilities to discuss technical issues (10%). Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and Jacobs facilities (10%). Requires work in a test facility environment (10%). Physical labor (lifting equipment, parts, test components, boxes. Moving equipment, parts, components). 80% (working with other technicians on mechanical, electrical/wiring, plumbing of ECLSS test stands and equipment).

Attendance\:
