Responsibilities:
The Client is looking to fill a senior level Project Manager position with a candidate who has IT project management experience and a background in financial planning, analysis and reporting. The PM will be responsible for managing the system implementation of IT driven projects, focusing on enterprise business system projects related to supporting the finance and accounting operations of the company. The PM will control the full lifecycle of the project, from defining requirements through implementation/rollout and working with the necessary cross functional teams, business units and technical resources. To ensure project success, the PM will need to communicate and coordinate closely with internal customers and project sponsors to certify objectives are delivered as expected.
This position will work closely with the end users, business technologies and other impacted parties to understand and prioritize business goals with the information related to the project. Facilitate the development of project plans related to schedule, budget, scope and resources. Ensure achievement of business goals and objectives by proactively communicating with project stakeholders. Oversees and coordinate the work performed by internal resources and outside contractors as applicable to the project. Provide timely and accurate information with status updates to project sponsors, end users and management. This position utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in their own discipline to provide and improve services.
Consults with management to align on goals, time frames, funding limitations, project approach, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.Collaborates on creative alternatives to project challenges; partners to drive adoption and challenge standards.Leads subject matter experts to resolve project challenges.Provides technical accounting expertise to the Finance department and supporting business unit leaders.Ensures the accuracy of the data needed for reporting, monitoring and tracking all business transaction based activity relating to financial processes.Monitors project execution to deliver incremental business value. Understands each project's critical path activities and proactively manages those to project's benefit.Promotes collaboration within project teams. Builds strong relationships with peers and stakeholders. Represents the PMO positively and with professionalism.Actively supports departmental continuous improvement and may be called upon to help develop new project delivery practices that improve overall productivity.Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Manages projects including project scope, schedule and budget. . Insures that projects are managed within the requirements of the PMO Governance Document, and all Board and Financial policies. Minimizes project exposure to risks by identifying and managing project risks. Create, implement, and track mitigation and contingency strategies. Develops understanding of the project objectives through discussions with stakeholders. Determines the appropriate resources necessary to execute the project, assembles project team and assigns individual responsibilities. Demonstrates understanding of the role and function of each team member and effectively coordinates the activities of the team.Provides input to all contracts, service agreements and statements of work necessary to accomplish the project.Develops and monitors the project budget and schedules. Resolves conflicts between resource limitations and project schedules. Obtains buy-in from stakeholders regarding budget and schedule. Negotiates with stakeholders regarding any changes to project parameters. Acts as primary contact for stakeholders and for project team members. Documents action items and brings them to resolution. Ensures work progresses on time and within budget. Approves or recommends approval of project expenditures. Keeps stakeholders informed of progress against agreed upon scope, schedule and budget.Ensures projects are completed on time, within budget and that results meet requirements regarding technical quality and reliability.Travels independently or with a small team to project sites as needed.
