IT Analyst and Architect – SAP Supply Chain Systems

Job Summary

The jobholder is responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of technical and functional solutions that are deployed in the production environment.  In addition, the jobholder provides the day-to-day configuration and process support for operating solutions.  This role will work closely with external and internal business partners ranging from directors to individual department employees to help structure business requirements and design solutions.  This requires understanding of numerous end-to-end business processes including, but not limited to, Order to Cash, Plan to Production, etc. and how they are implemented.  The jobholder will provide hands-on guidance on system design and project management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget to direct and distributed teams.

The jobholder is focused on, but not limited to, IT Applications supporting business processes related to Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Distribution, Production Planning, Available to Promise.

This position requires an individual who is innovative and can mobilize distributed teams within a multi-national company for the purpose of executing technology solutions and business processes in alignment with the business vision. The Analyst will work with peers and external partners to improve existing systems, provide new solutions to support the business strategy, as well as envision and prepare for the future.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of innovation, effective execution, business process improvement, solution ownership, and productive partnership.

The business will consider the Analyst to be their business and systems expert, and their key technology partner in the execution of projects and system sustainment in the direction of increased efficiency and revenue generation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure IT applications are available and operating on a day-to-day basis Work with managers, business partners, and process leads to identify and prioritize issues, improvements, and projects Provides end user support for break/fix issues and process improvement requests. Provides subject matter expertise as the functional owner of SAP Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Distribution, and gATP. Responds promptly and accurately to issues and requests. Analyze business processes and recommend improvements aligned with best practices within the assigned functional modules Collaborates with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, makes recommendations based on expertise and implements agreed upon and approved solutions. Designs, develops, tests, and implements SAP Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Distribution and gATP solutions in support of key business applications Provide project management that is effective at managing multiple tasks, multiple resources (employees and vendors), while meeting project timelines, project goals, and staying within the project budget Ensure team members and vendors employ approved maintenance and support processes Provide leadership in collaboration with members of other functional teams Work closely with other team members with proactive sharing of expertise, to improve and ensure team success Participate fully in the success of the overall IT team Document processes and procedures related to application support and maintenance Work with software vendors to develop solutions in response to systems malfunctions, software bugs, program changes and modifications Direct resources in the testing of information systems solutions Manage user acceptance testing of applications prior to promoting changes into the production environment, while providing documentation of the testing and appropriate signoff Ensure that proper segregation of duties is enforced between development, test, and production environments Ensure that proper Software Development Lifecycle Management is performed Transfer knowledge and skills to IT staff and clients Understand IT goals and objectives with regard to core applications. Track current application portfolio, plan and implement maintenance, patches, and upgrades, and develop roadmaps for new versions or different software solutions Adhere to Change Management standards Communicate tough messages to business and staff Other duties as assigned Travel, domestic and international, up to 25%

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management or equivalent industry experience Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Strong problem solving, trouble shooting and analytical skills Ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities in a professional manner, good planning and organizing skills Ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts and ideas to IT development teams Ability to interact with business users and trading partners Working in distributed team environments, self-motivated, and self-directed Build a trusting and efficient working relationship with business stakeholders Coordinate and communicate with business stakeholders and team members Required: 10+ years of IT industry work experience including business systems analysis, solution design, application development and deployment of major Enterprise solutions Delivery experience of Business Applications Solid understanding of business processes including, but not limited to, demand planning, supply chain planning, production, and quality Team building capabilities, negotiation skills, and capacity to drive win-win outcomes Experience working in a distributed, team-oriented, collaborative environment Demonstrated experience with large SAP Enterprise ERP implementations in the areas of technical & functional design specification, development, and knowledge transfer. Experience designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting solutions in SAP APO including but not limited to DP, SNP, and GATP. SAP ECC PP.  5 years and 2 full life cycle implementations desired and knowledge of: DP BW Building blocks (Characteristic, Key figure, Info cube etc.) DP Building Books (Planning area, Planning books, Data views, Selection IDs etc) Various techniques of data loading into DP Various statistical forecasting methods Various disaggregation factors BW Reports and DP Authorization Experience with macros and alerts, forecast errors, creation and monitoring of background jobs and process chains, demand release to SNP Master data and transactional data that support DP, SNP, gATP, PP, QM Design, implement, monitor and manage data integration between SAP systems using Core Interface (CIF) Analyzing and diagnosing issues with planning engine output (Heuristic, CTM, Optimizer) Experience creating storage bucket profiles, Planning Areas, Initialize Planning Areas, Creation time/Planning- bucket Profiles, maintain forecast profiles and generate forecast profiles MRP, Process Manufacturing Perform realignment activities. Forecast release including ad hoc release Deployment Optimizer and TLB Experience in master data and its role in enabling systems Experience with functional design and configuration of IT Applications Experience with end-user support for SAP and non-SAP systems providing a high level of customer satisfaction Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook Advantageous: Spanish and/or French language skills Basic understanding of SAP ECC 6.0 and any of the core modules (FI, SD, HR, LE) and manufacturing and consumer products business processes Experience with SAP S/4 HANA including IBP, Production and Quality processes Experience in ABAP, ABAP OOPS, Smart Forms, SAP Scripts Basic understanding of SAP BW system and query design

Compensation

The salary range of $123,800 - $206,300 is just one component of Morton's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience.
