The IT Applications Support Engineer - Print Operations is responsible for supporting and maintaining the IT systems and processes that underpin Zelis’ print operations. This role includes troubleshooting technical issues, collaborating with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring the efficient and secure operation of print-related workflows. The engineer will act as a critical link between production vendors, facility management, and IT teams to maintain smooth operations and resolve any technical challenges.
This position is hybrid and will be required to be onsite in St Louis 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Print Operations Support:
Serve as the primary technical support resource for print operations, ensuring systems are running efficiently and troubleshooting issues promptly.
Collaborate with production vendors (e.g., Bluecrest, Canon, Konica) to understand workflows, dependencies, and functionality.
Oversee IT systems used in print operations, including managing hardware/software integrations.
System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Monitor operational performance of print systems and resolve technical issues as they arise.
Identify and resolve issues related to data formats, configurations, or system errors.
Support file transmission workflows using protocols such as FTP and SFTP.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal IT teams and external vendors to implement new systems and optimize existing workflows.
Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to print operations.
Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and support.
Documentation & Process Management:
Develop and maintain detailed documentation to support IT processes within the print facility, including user guides and troubleshooting procedures.
Participate in release activities, performing release verifications and maintaining communication updates.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure systems adhere to company security standards and operational policies.
Maintain awareness of privacy and compliance requirements relevant to print operations.
Operational Leadership:
Attend and participate in team meetings, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Assist with training other analysts and staff on standard procedures and system use.
Required Experience:
3+ years of experience in IT operations
Experience writing & running basic SQL queries
Application code experience required (C#, .Net, Java, C, C++, or equivalent)
Operating system experience (Windows preferred)
Must be able to work on-call for emergencies
Must be able to lift/move 20 lbs
Must be able to resolve issues in high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios
Preferred Experience:
Print or production environments support
Knowledge of workload automation tools (e.g., Automic) and application performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk).
Print machine experience (e.g. Canon, Konica, Bluecrest, etc)
Network protocols (e.g., FTP, SFTP) and system integrations.
Microsoft environments, including Windows servers and Azure.
CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certifications
