IT Area Lead - WB Tech Transaction Services

The Opportunity  

ING is looking for an experienced IT Area Lead to strengthen its Wholesale Banking Transaction Services organization.

 

WB Transaction services is an international environment, responsible for the set-up of critical and complex transaction banking services that ING globally delivers to corporate clients, like: (international) Payments, (international) Trade, Accounts & Cash Management, Reporting, Cards Acquiring and Pricing & Billing. You will be working closely with both the IT Lead and the Delivery Lead of Transaction Services and you will be a frequent visitor to the MT of the Transaction Services delivery organization. Close interactions with the other Tribe and IT Leads is also expected. You will have access to subject matter experts to ensure the right content and sequencing can be done. These SMEs will be spread across the WB tech domains/areas/locations across the world. Beyond WB Transaction Services you will have to liase with teams in ING (WB) Tech and/or partners. Topics will be mainly focussed on increasing efficiency in delivery.

In this position you lead the local Transaction Services chapters in The Philippines. As an IT Area Lead of this space, you will functionally report to the IT Lead of Transaction Services and hierarchically to the IT Lead of WB Tech Manila.

Your Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and growing craftsmanship in your area with emphasis on 

o   Agile customer-centric software development 

o   Analytics and metrics of customer and systems’ behavior 

o   People-oriented management and growth of Chapter leads and engineers 

o   High quality recruitment process 

o   Reduction of Infra costs by monitoring utilization. 

o   Proper budget control 

o   IT automation 

o   Organize for flow of delivery, e.g., with Product Management and Team Topologies 

In Manila you will be the local area lead, with roughly 50 engineers across 7 chapters. As a local area lead you, together with the chapter leads are responsible in growing and supporting craftsmanship within the area. Working with Product leads and other IT Area Leads to ensure feasibility of Product Roadmaps in lines with the Bank’s strategy and KPIs Predictable delivery of our software by Squads in your area where we live up to our promises with respect to quality, timelines, and featuresIT Custodianship of selected applications – this includes keeping IT Risk within Risk Appetite and a reliable operation where KPIs (like availability) and other Service Level Objectives are met Drive the data strategy to more modern architectural designs Balancing business requirements with technical debt Managing budgets - software expenses, work packages, people and service costs Aligning with NextGen Tech strategy to integrate aspects like public cloud in the Product roadmaps 

 

Your Profile (Desired Skills & Experience) 

Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field. Experienced IT leader with 5+ years of experience in an IT management role.  Data background will be a plus You have a strong hand at architecture with knowledge of data flows and pipelines Knowledge of full stack (front end, JAVA back end) and analytics will be handy to have You have affinity with the Transaction Services business  Vendor management both for software and consulting servicesSenior Stakeholder management skillsKnowledge of banking You are passionate about growing and developing technical people You have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills  You love technology and naturally stay up to date on relevant new developments You are affluent in (business) EnglishYou value diversity and get on with people from different cultures
