ING is looking for a dynamic and experienced IT Area Lead to lead the development, optimization, and governance of core platform capabilities across Wholesale Banking (WB).
This role is pivotal in ensuring alignment with all WB tribes and overall CTO domains to drive alignment for successful implementation and optimization of central infrastructure capabilities. The IT Area Lead will manage four critical strategic capabilities:
Green IT Dashboard Wisdom and Infrastructure Optimization Database as a Service (DBaaS) CoE Network Engineering & Public Cloud
The Team
In this role, IT Area Lead will be responsible for managing Infrastructure services for Wholesale Banking Tribes and in some cases outside Wholesale Banking.
This is a newly created area with a high degree of complexity and the need for cross-functional alignment. The team plays a pivotal role in ensuring that these capabilities are well-established and successful within WB. It works collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure high-quality infrastructure services are delivered, ultimately contributing to better stability and reliability of business services within WB.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will be overseeing an area of around 25 people globally (Netherlands, Manila and India), with 3-4 Chapter Leads reporting directly to you – you will be managing the manager of engineers.Engage and develop ING and external staff, steering on craftmanship to maintain a highly skilled and motivated workforce.Provide technical leadership, and growing craftsmanship on the part of IT Chapters in your area with an emphasis on:Agile customer-centric software developmentAnalytics and metrics of customer and systems’ behaviorPeople-oriented management and growth of Chapter leads and engineersIT automation & Continuous ImprovementLead and develop core platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with WB tribes, CTO domains and ING strategy.Oversee 3-4 NL-based Chapter Leads and their respective teams.Establish and integrate new capabilities within WB and broader ING.Drive cross-functional alignment and stakeholder management.Develop sustainability dashboards and reduction strategies for Green IT.Centralize project management and execution for decom initiatives and large IT projects.Create a central DBaaS capability to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Collaborate closely with our ING Hubs across the globe and our SSI partners in IndiaYour Profile (Desired Skills & Experience)
Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field.Experienced IT leader with 5+ years of experience in an IT management role.You have a strong hand at infrastructure with knowledge of DBaaS, Public Coud and have project management skills.You are genuinely interested in and understand the Wholesale Banking business and how our customers use our products. You stay up-to-day on how the business and demands change and can think together with our business colleagues about how best to evolve our proposition.Senior Stakeholder management skills are critical for successWhile not mandatory, knowledge of banking is a big nice-to-haveYou are passionate about growing and developing technical peopleYou possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skillsYou love technology and naturally stay up to date on relevant new developmentsYou value a multi-cultured environment where English is the working language, and you easily get on with people from different cultural backgrounds.You enjoy collaborating with architects and engineers to design and implement solutions.Your benefits
