IT Asset Management Specialist

Description:
A typical day involves working the software queue and defining, deploying, and managing all phases of the enterprise software ITAM process. Manage agreements and relationships with vendors and ensure the enterprise is equipped with appropriate software to fit the needs of employees. Support all areas of the Hardware and Software module while striving to align with ServiceNow recommended best practices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain IT software asset inventory
• Build and maintain automated IT asset inventory capabilities
• Manage agreement for subscription software assets
• Ensure sufficient stock of software licenses to fulfill requests
• Develop and implement software asset management processes and procedures for enterprise
• Identify, define, and deploy best practices for enterprise ITAM
• Coordinate lifecycle, procurement, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT software
• Coordinate warranties and service agreements
• Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control to make recommendations for the future and to identify areas for possible savings and/or
asset optimization
• Define standards and ensure guidelines and controls are maintained
• Preform audits and regular inventory reviews
• Generate IT software asset reports to assist management in forecasting needs and budgeting for annual renewals
• Work with other departments to ensure project software needs are met
• Administer ServiceNow platform to align with IT policies, processes, and procedures with ITIL emphasis
• Support and develop automation, integrations, and reporting
• Assist with or perform platform upgrades end to end for all instances keeping to ServiceNow family upgrade schedule
• Migrate development via update sets, xml, etc.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in technical field or project management preferred
• 5+ years of experience in IT software/asset management
• Experience with multi-location coordination of technical resources
• Experience managing leased assets
• Experience with Service Catalog, creating items and flow designer
• Familiarity or certification with ITIL foundation concepts
• Familiarity with CSDM and CMDB modules preferred
• Certifications/Licenses –
o ITIL Certification
o ITAM, CITAM, CHAMP industry certifications preferred
o ServiceNow Admin Certification a plus
