Reporting to the Enterprise Architect & Senior Manager Web Applications /.NET / Integrations, the IT Business Architect is a key advisor to IT and business stakeholders. You will translate strategic goals into actionable architectural blueprints—mapping business capabilities, defining value streams, and ensuring technology investments deliver measurable outcomes. This pivotal role will guide the transformation of our digital ecosystem, ensuring business and technology are tightly aligned to drive value across the organization. The role is offered as Hybrid and office location is in Ghent.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Architecture Alignment
Define and maintain a holistic view of Esko’s business architecture—linking strategy, capabilities, services, and systems.
Lead the development of capability maps, value streams, and maturity models to inform IT and business roadmaps.
Partner with the Enterprise Architect to shape and maintain the IT strategy and architectural direction.
Ensure technology initiatives are aligned with strategic business goals and capability needs.
Business Process & Capability Modeling
Build and maintain an inventory of business processes, applications, and services, identifying gaps and overlaps across domains.
Assess the current maturity of capabilities and define transformation roadmaps to drive operational excellence.
Support prioritization of digital initiatives based on impact to strategic value streams.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
Act as a bridge between business units and IT—facilitating alignment, common language, and shared priorities.
Collaborate closely with Solution and Technical Architects to ensure cohesive and scalable end-to-end solutions.
Influence governance processes and advocate for architecture principles in cross-functional initiatives.
Digital Transformation Leadership
Be a core contributor to enterprise-wide digital transformation programs—ensuring architectural integrity and business value.
Help design the governance models, tools, and methods to accelerate digital maturity and innovation.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline. Or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in IT, with strong experience in business architecture, or senior business analysis roles.
Deep experience modeling business processes, capabilities, and value streams using industry-standard techniques and tools.
Proficient in enterprise architecture tools (e.g., LeanIX, Ardoq—preferred).
Proven experience in large-scale, cross-functional digital transformation initiatives.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—able to influence across business and technical stakeholders.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
