SUMMARY

This position will report to the Director of IT Business Management.  The IT Business Relationship Manager will be responsible for implementing and overseeing programs for the engagement of IT services by lines of business, management and governance, overseeing the IT portfolio management process, resource management, performance management, process management, and facilitation of all major technology vendors.

The IT Business Relationship Manager builds relationships and collaboration between leaders and team members across functions. They must have the ability to identify and articulate how IT capabilities can solve business problems and present and discusses technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding. This position works across business lines & vendor partners in meeting business objectives and looks for common expectations across internal and external stakeholder groups.

This role will also have added focus and responsibilities within the technology budget management and reporting functions, as well as vendor contract onboarding & management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

Drives the vision & goals for partnership, engagement, and facilitation between departments/ business lines and the technology organization to investigate and fulfill all technology needs for the enterpriseFacilitates alignment of the business and technology strategic goalsResponsible for the application system portfolio management process and ensuring roadmaps are defined for tactical and strategic horizonsIn conjunction with Enterprise Architecture, drives the implementation of the portfolio lifecycle process and in shaping functional and technical paths to ensure efficient and effective platforms for our clientsProvides governance and a process for yearly project planning and oversight for approved projects as well as manages unplanned project requests throughout the year.  This includes working with ELT and Business Owners, the Priority Committee, IT Steering Committee, and the IT Architecture Review Board.Requires the use of business analysis and technical skills to interpret business requirements and impacts, to ensure the optimal technical solutions are designed and implemented to meet business needs.Works with the Director of IT Business Management in researching events, contracts, or invoices to assist with the technology budget management and reporting functions.Works subject matter experts to determine the gaps between the business needs and what the systems are capable of doing, as well as estimating and maintaining the scope appropriatelyRecommends optimized business processes across the full value-streamLeads the identification of vendors, facilitates due diligence, and contractual arrangementsAppropriately manages customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, and budgetary parametersFacilitates partnership meetings with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of their delivery, direction, and SLAs to the business needsDevelops relationships with key stakeholders to enable the partnered facilitation of technology ownershipDirects project requests to the project management office and facilitates request prioritization and tracking with other IT groups for fulfillmentResponsible for effective Change Management of IT led projects and changes.  This includes reviewing communications, training plans, delivery schedules, and project plans.Will develop, edit, and maintain written communications, presentations, charters, and other project artifacts as required.Develops a business-value-based IT service portfolio and internalizes distinctions between services, processes, products, and platforms to enable proper fulfillment assignmentsDefines IT service and operating level agreements for service offerings within the oversight of the positionManages portfolio lifecycle, including service introduction, enhancement, and retirementParticipates in governance around changes to IT production environments

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year College or University and five or more (5+) years prior relevant experience desired, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior financial services experience desired. Prior experience in IT Business Relationship Management preferred.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong understanding of IT environment and technologies (including ITIL) in relation to business needs; Strong business acumen and operational experience; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent objective analysis capability; Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABLITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk.  The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
