Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to safely provide our customers with the reliable, affordable, clean energy they depend on. **What does an IT Data and Analytics Leader do for us?** This individual directs and leads a high-performance team responsible for development, support, and maintenance of analytic solutions that help stakeholders leverage data to gain valuable insights and make informed decisions. Solutions will include descriptive reports, dynamic visualizations, predictive models, and Generative AI, primarily leveraging the Microsoft suite, they will also lead the effort to solidify our Enterprise Data Strategy, increasing stakeholder literacy and engagement, establishing sound data governance models, and maturing data science practices in close coordination with the established Enterprise Data Management team. They will balance predictable delivery leveraging project management methodologies with the ability to adapt to evolving and dynamic business needs. They will work with other IT leaders and managers to ensure we meet these business needs with secure and sustainable solutions that adhere to established development standards and best practices. Through this work, they will play a key role in ensuring Idaho Power continues to provide reliable, affordable, clean energy and exceptional customer service. They will also have the opportunity to aid in effective intake, prioritization, and execution of work as well as capacity planning, resource allocation, and budget management. In addition to the meaningful work we do, we offer work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, an employee incentive plan, and both a 401k employer-match and a pension plan, making Idaho Power one of the best employers in the state. **A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE** **Knowledge of:** + Traditional and advanced analytic practices, including descriptive analysis, business intelligence, exploratory analysis, statistical analysis, data preprocessing, feature engineering, machine learning models, large language models, and generative AI + Reporting and analytic tools, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Azure Synapse, and Azure Machine Learning + Data Strategy including data management, data governance, data literacy, and use case development and management + Business processes supported in the areas of responsibility **Preferred:** + Utility experience, particularly experience working with utilities to establish and/or execute a Data Strategy + Company operations, financial, legal, and regulatory requirements to ensure that compliance methodology is executed and enforced + Specialized knowledge of IT Service Management related to IT general controls, change management, release management, configuration management, etc. + Cloud application services and containerization **Skills in:** + Strategy development and execution including clearly defining direction, gaining organizational alignment, and facilitating change management + Work management including scope definition structure creation, scheduling, resource planning, budgeting, and monitoring + Excellent listening, written and oral communication + Technical problem analysis and problem resolution **Preferred:** + Internal consulting and meeting facilitation **Ability to:** + Lead and motivate people in a team environment + Prioritize work in an environment of multiple high priority projects **Preferred:** + Build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, co-workers, and peers in other departments + Effectively communicate complex technical concepts in lay terms **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** **Education:** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance **OR** + An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience **Preferred:** + Master's degree in one of the previously listed fields **Experience:** + 5 years of experience supporting enterprise-wide software systems **Preferred:** + 3 years leadership experience in a team environment + 5 years supporting major business systems/applications + 3 years of project management experience **Licenses & Certifications:** + Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position **Preferred:** + IT Service Management Foundations certification Specialized: Change, Configuration, PMP certification, Agile/SCRUM certification **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. This person will be able to make well-thought-out collaborative decisions related to complex business problems and their respective technical solutions. This leadership position directly manages technical teams that support enterprise and non-enterprise system/application development, maintenance, upgrades, and any associated integrations.
