Job Details:
The IT Data Engineer I is expected to have foundational proficiency in SQL and ETL processes, with an ability to build simple data transformation scripts. They should understand the basics of data warehousing concepts and start to engage with data governance processes. This role involves basic data pipeline scripting and programming
tasks, establishing a groundwork for further development in data engineering disciplines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain SQL-based data pipelines, ensuring efficient ETL processes.
• Assist in scripting and programming tasks to support data operations.
• Provide support for writing common SQL and calculations within data visualization tools.
• Contribute to data warehousing concepts and practices under supervision.
• Learn and apply foundational concepts of data architecture and basic visualization principles.
• Support basic data security measures, including row-level and column-level security.
• Assist in building and deploying basic data visualization solutions, focusing on simplicity and clarity.
• Provide assistance in data governance activities to ensure data quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements for data solutions
Begin to understand data privacy and security practices to protect sensitive information.
• Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice
Special Skills:
• Proficiency in SQL and basic ETL tools.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and basic data architecture.
• Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration and monitoring.
• Initial exposure to big data technologies like Hadoop or Apache Spark.
