What We're Looking For:\n

We are seeking a SQL Database Administrator that will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, performance, capacity, backup and recovery of the Agency's Microsoft SQL databases. The DBA performs regular database maintenance activities including checking critical databases for availability and performance. This role will be responsible for maintaining consistency in databases across several environments such as development, staging and production. \n
\n

Responsibilities:\n\nMonitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild\/defrag and database statistics.\nDesign, code, and test new applications and changes to existing programs.\nDesign and implement databases in accordance to end users information requirements.\nProvide customer support and troubleshoot technical issues in a variety of application environments. This includes being able to research issues related to system configuration, application & database code, and problems with data.\nEnd-to-end testing of systems for proof of concept work or for troubleshooting purposes.\nInteract with Information Technology and other personnel through the phases of developing and maintaining a software application.\nCompose and maintain documentation of developed software.\nCompliance with established change management procedures.\nProvide support to other Information Technology team members.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nAvailability for projects requiring after-hour support.\n\n

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:\n\nBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field preferred.\nHigh School Diploma and two years of related, verifiable work experience may be substituted for college level education.\nMinimum of 1 years' programming experience in C# is required.\nMinimum of 3 years' experience with database programming (MS SQL) and design in a client-server environment is required. \nMinimum of 1 year experience with a reporting tool, preferably Crystal Reports, is required.\nMinimum of 1 year web-based programming experience is desired.\n\nCOMPETENCIES\n\nProficiency in T-SQL for querying and data manipulation.\nUnderstanding of database design and schema creation\nKnowledge of data types, functions, joins, and data manipulation operations\nExperience with performance tuning and optimization.\nExperience with Microsoft SQL Server administration features like backup, security and high availability options.\n\n
