**CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for an IT Desktop Support position.**
**Job Title:** IT Desktop Support
**Location:** Corning, NY
_*Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY*_
**Type:** Contract
**Pay Rate:** Based on experience
**Work Hours:** M-F, 8am-5pm
**Education:** Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's Degree preferred
**Description:**
CTG is seeking an IT Desktop Support professional to join our client’s team. This position involves supporting desktop technology, managing IT resources, and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge as well as excellent communication skills, working closely with both technical staff and end users to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Supporting the effective acquisition, installation, maintenance, and use of desktop technology.
+ Installing and troubleshooting hardware and software.
+ Participating in vulnerability patching of selected lab systems.
+ Communicating with lab owners and technical staff to maintain configuration management databases and active directories.
+ Upgrading legacy Windows systems to the current version.
+ Attending update meetings and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
+ Administering end-user requests and managing IT projects.
+ Coordinating resources to resolve issues in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate should have a basic knowledge of IT systems, troubleshooting, and customer service, with the ability to work under supervision while developing solutions to routine technical problems.
**Requirements:**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ **Education:** Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
+ **Experience:** 1-3 years of IT experience, including hardware installation, troubleshooting, and support.
+ **Hardware Experience:** Strong experience beyond just imaging and deployment.
**Desired Skills:**
+ Hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, and support.
+ Prior experience with Active Directory administration.
+ Experience imaging PCs and working with deployment servers.
+ Basic knowledge of IT service management processes.
+ Basic smart hands experience (network configuration).
**Preferred Certifications:**
+ CompTIA IT Fundamentals
+ CompTIA A+ CompTIA Cloud+ CompTIA Mobility+ CompTIA Network+ CompTIA Server **Additional Information:**
