Compensation: $60-65K/yearLocation: Pasadena, TXWork Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+Duration: Direct HireBenefits: Comprehensive benefits provided by Client Responsibilities General Local User Support including but not limited to: Basic PC/Laptop and network troubleshooting and repair; peripheral support to include printers, faxes, projectors, etc., PC/Laptop and peripheral setup and upgrades, as directed; application support and installation and log all calls and track actions takenGeneral IT Shop Support including maintaining PC inventories and pertinent data (spreadsheet with description/user/location). Keep the IT environments clean and well-managedImage or configure PC’s, perform PC imaging or reloading, as neededEvaluate existing systemsVirus and security updates are current. Check the overall health of the systemReview installed software for health, relevance, need and licensingStore and recycle old equipmentBackup monitoring and tape exchange, as directedProvide alternate IT support for all issues when the IT Generalist is unavailableBe prepared to be on call and to work with technical support from corporate or elsewhere. Be prepared to travel to Port Arthur or to Houston Sales Office (The Woodlands)Ad hoc assignments such as office relocations, reports, file, and data supportSupport the IT security policies, processes, and procedures to comply with mandates, including Sarbanes Oxley, HSES requirements, etcDevelop and maintain a positive relationship with customers, peers, and managementOther duties as assigned; this may include: Assisting with DCS (Control Systems) documentation and support Qualifications Associates Degree in IT preferredMinimum 3 – 4 years’ experience in a helpdesk or IT support environmentMicrosoft Certified ProfessionalRequires strong knowledge of: PC Hardware, remote access concepts, all Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office (all products), ad hoc application support and research, Windows networking, and PC imagingDemonstrate a customer service orientation to work and in work assignmentsDemonstrate effective oral and written communication skillsBe able to tolerate a stressful environment as well as multitask; Able to work through multiple interruptions and still maintain focus on the task at handMust be adaptive, flexible, and self-motivatedAble to make good decisions and adjust procedures, as neededEffective leadership skills and the ability to work productively in a cross functional team environmentStrong analytical skills. Ability to effectively solve problems and resolve conflictsOrganizational skills and can prioritize work, develop appropriate timelines and work to deadlinesEffective oral and written communication skillsSkills, software knowledge and/or certifications specific to the industry/functionAbility to physically maneuver while providing support that may require crawling, climbing, or walking long distance in plant environmentTravel 25% - to Port Arthur, TX, and Houston Sales office (The Woodlands)
