Cloudera is looking for an experienced, and motivated leader to manage a new engineering team focused on transforming Cloudera’s software licensing and license consumption monitoring systems.

The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with great technical, communication, and problem solving skills who is capable of growing, developing and managing a software engineering team while also contributing to its development efforts as needed.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will:

Direct Projects: Lead a small team of engineers through the development of new bespoke enterprise software licensing system. Manage technical requirements generation, software design, development, and production support/maintenance. Define and optimize team policies and processes.

Develop Resources: Hire your team, develop, and retain highly capable team members to deliver with efficiency and quality.

Deliver Consistently: Develop, implement and manage an agile delivery model that consistently delivers working software in each sprint.  Continuously improve teams agile processes to improve feature estimation accuracy and burndown consistency to improve delivery timeline predictability.

Define and Improve Processes: Implement and influence business and operational systems that support licensing and consumption monitoring needs. 

Manage and Mitigate Risk: Identify potential risk and mitigation strategies, employ effective monitoring and alerting mechanisms.  Identify emerging issues and drive their resolution.

We're excited about you if you have:

5+ years of software engineering work experience in a distributed agile environment building secure cloud based service oriented software solutions. (Java Preferred)

2+ years in a software leadership role including requirements gathering, technical design and Software Development LifeCycle management in global high tech environments

2+ years in a people management role

In depth knowledge of agile development methodologies

Demonstrated experience recruiting and/or managing technical teams, including performance management

BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
