IT Financial Management & Analytics Specialist
Overview The complexity of Digital and Technology management requires specialized knowledge and experience to effectively plan, analyze, and manage financial accountabilities and information. The IT Financial Management and Analytics Specialist will coach and assist senior IT leaders in planning and managing budgets, measuring financial performance, modeling service and project costs, producing forecasts, and ensuring associated financial processes are understood and executed effectively. The Specialist will educate and guide IT department managers in their understanding of key financial concepts and their performance of financial process responsibilities, positioning them to manage and communicate the cost, quality, and value of the IT services they deliver. The Specialist will contribute to the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of IT-specific processes and tools that will be used for IT financial management. This individual contributor will work closely with the Digital and Technology Enablement Program Director as well as the leaders throughout the Digital teams, create internal partnerships with senior IT leaders and IT managers, leverage and build upon both the financial and technology expertise brought to the position. Responsibilities Job Description Coach the management team in adherence to financial goals framework for digital enterprise and execution of the processes to achieve the required level of consistency, process adherence, data quality, and usage of tools. Monitor, analyze, and review findings with the IT management team on financial performance variances and risks and support efforts to address and mitigate them. Advise on and contribute to FinOps practices and IT service costs modeling and forecasting practices based on industry standards. Facilitate IT management submissions and governance reviews of funding requests for capital, operating expense, and labor position commitments. Facilitate the IT review and signoff of on capital funding requests submitted by the business, ensuring appropriate IT leaders have confirmed the needed resources are being allocated. Contribute to IT efforts for annual financial planning and periodic forecasting under direction of central finance resources. Develop and improve IT financial management processes and related educational tools and lead the IT management team in their adoption and execution. Contribute to the implementation of Digital enterprise goals, standards, practices, processes, and technologies. Collaborate with cross functional teams regarding all areas of digital finance processes and outcomes. Contribute to the identification and standardization of key measurements that drive Digital financial performance. Develop and deliver status updates and presentations to senior management and stakeholders on process, process improvement, and results to increase Digital financial performance and outcomes. Qualifications Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent relevant combination of education and experience. Experience 8 years’ experience in Information Technology with financial accountabilities or Finance with Information Technology accountabilities 4 years’ experience with data modeling and analytical reporting 1+ years’ experience with FinOps practices and service costing 2+ years’ experience in coaching and teaching financial literacy 2+years’ experience working in advisory and consultative roles 2+ years’ experience with continuous improvement processes Current knowledge of accounting practices and principals Departmental financial planning, budgeting, and performance reporting. Technical skills with SQL, ERP systems and similar applications along with Microsoft products (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, etc.) Understanding of IT infrastructure domains including data centers, network/communications, server utilization, virtual environments, storage, packaged application management, and cloud services. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
