The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Information Technology is looking for someone to become a part of our progressive team as aIT Infrastructure Engineer II(Configuration Management Specialist) in the Operations Bureau. This position designs, develops, and applies technical expertise that support the organization's technical infrastructure and technology offerings. This includes systems, networks, servers, and other related technologies. It is responsible for designing, developing, testing, installing and/or deploying technologies, and work typically includes contingency planning, configuration management, direct maintenance and problem resolution. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Typically gained by an associate degree or equivalent college level/vocational-tech coursework directly related to current information technology OR at least two years of work experience in information technology. Education and experience must be within the last five years. + Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting network, server or storage systems. Typically gained by at least three years of full-time work experience where installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network, server or storage systems was part of your primary job responsibilities. + Experience resolving network or server problems.Typically gained by at least two years of full-time work experience (within the last five years) where resolving network or server problems were part of their primary responsibilities. + Experience working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment.Typically gained by at least two years of full-time work experience interviewing and consulting with clients/users to develop and implement solutions to meet computing requirements in a business environment as a primary responsibility of the job. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants. + Experience working in a Service Desk environment, and knowledge of service management processes. Typically met by at least two years of related experience. + Good knowledge of endpoint configuration management practices. Typically gained by at least two years of related experience. + Experience supporting one or more network operating systems. Typically gained by at least two years of related experience. + Experience installing, administering, and configuring two or more multi-protocol routers,wireless access points and layer two switches in multiple locations.
