Minimum Requirements IT Infrastructure Analyst III | Workstation Engineering + Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field + AND five (5) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. + Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas. Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications + Knowledge of network/infrastructure operating systems and equipment, such as servers, PCs, switches, routers, and emerging technologies; troubleshooting and resolution practices; system performance analysis techniques; installation, configuration, optimization and maintenance techniques of infrastructure; + Windows, VM and Linux servers operations; lifecycle management techniques; security vulnerability practices; + Cisco routers, switches, firewall and malware protection practices; technical analysis and design techniques; information system operations and support; various service and support tools; + Design techniques for information and operational support systems; security and information data backup strategies; + Skill in effective communication to both technical and non-technical audiences + Skill in learning complex technical issues and acquiring technical knowledge; quickly learning and applying new technologies; working independently and as part of a team; using creative and innovative thinking to solve complex problems; analytical and problem solving capabilities; organizing multiple projects and timelines; demonstrating strong analytical capabilities Major Accountabilities 1) Manages regular testing of hardware and analysis of APS system performance 2) Leads design of information and operational support systems 3) Oversee integration of new systems, tools and technologies into infrastructure and technical support functions 4) Works with venders to assist infrastructure support activities 5) Leads implementation of projects relating to computer operations and infrastructure systems administration 6) Develops security, backup and redundancy strategies 7) Oversees maintenance of development environments and software 8) Actively identifies, researches and resolves technical problems relating to infrastructure administration 9) Monitor and ensure timely resolutions to infrastructure related problems 10) Resolve infrastructure related issues by working directly with peers and customers 11) Researches innovative automated approaches and solutions to infrastructure administration tasks 12) Provides advice as a go-to technical resource for APS infrastructure administration colleagues with less experience or to a small team 13) May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other infrastructure administrators within job area 14) May manage projects at this level, requiring responsibility for the delegation of work and the review of others' work product Export Compliance / EEO Statement This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, 'U.S. Export Control Laws'). CIP Requirement: This position requires Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) access consistent with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards. The applicant considered for this role will be required to obtain and maintain CIP access for the duration of employment in this position. A full seven (7) year criminal history will be obtained through the pre-employment background check process (or, for current employees, through supplemental background check process) to fulfill the CIP access requirements. In addition, this position requires an additional background check every seven years to maintain access.
