Job DescriptionAssist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.Support the administration of server infrastructure, including both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments.Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot network and system issues, escalating as needed.Assist in configuring and managing VLANs, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and basic Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking tasks.Support storage solutions (e.g., NAS, SAN) and basic storage configurations, including SMB and NFS.Help manage virtualization environments, including VMware or similar platforms.Perform basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task efficiency.Assist with maintaining network and system security practices, including monitoring logs and managing access.Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, ensuring accurate and accessible information for team members.Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 4 years of experience in a combined network and systems engineering role.Foundational knowledge of network protocols and configurations, including VLANs, ACLs, TCP/IP, and basic routing concepts.Proficiency in server administration in both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments.Experience with storage technologies, such as SMB and NFS, and basic storage management.Basic experience in virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Good written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear documentation and effective team communication.Certifications such as VCP, MCSA, CCNA, or equivalent are a plus.Additional InformationTo learn more about the information collected when you apply for a position at Guardant Health, Inc. and how it is used, please review our Privacy Notice for Job Applicants.
