Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer II with a primary focus on systems engineering, including servers, storage, and virtualization, who also has hands-on experience in networking. This role will support our IT infrastructure needs by designing, implementing, and managing our server, storage, and virtualized environments while contributing to network-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage server infrastructure, storage solutions (e.g., Pure Storage), and virtual environments (e.g., VMware). Monitor and maintain system health and performance, ensuring optimal uptime and resource availability.Manage and troubleshoot both Microsoft Windows and Linux server environments.Configure and support storage technologies such as SMB and NFS to facilitate file sharing and storage management across platforms.Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP for user authentication, domain management, and network services.Collaborate with the networking team on cross-functional projects, supporting network architecture and implementation efforts as needed.Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate administrative tasks and improve efficiency.Utilize AWS services like EC2, S3, and IAM for cloud-based infrastructure and storage needs, implementing best practices for security and management.Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to server, storage, virtualization, and network infrastructure.Ensure security best practices are followed across systems, supporting compliance with organizational standards.Document infrastructure configurations, policies, and procedures, providing clear communication and knowledge sharing.Participate in planning and executing disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on servers, storage, and virtualization, plus experience in networking.Strong skills in server and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and storage solutions (e.g., Pure Storage), along with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.Strong experience with storage technologies (e.g., SMB, NFS) and directory services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) for user management, domain administration, and network services.Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols, including experience with switches, routers, and firewalls.Familiarity with AWS services, including EC2, S3, and IAM for managing cloud-based infrastructureExperience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and process improvement.Certifications such as VCP, MCSA, or equivalent are a plus.Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
