Overview Full-time, seasonal position providing Desktop and Laptop PC support, wireless support, basic cell phone support, maintain inventory of computer equipment, troubleshoot/repair/replace desktop and laptop computers, along with additional responsibilities. The role provides hands-on exposure to IT infrastructure, systems administration, technical support, and network management. PTO and Paid Sick Leave Health/Dental/Vision Insurance Responsibilities Knowledge and Skills Great customer services skills required. Technician supports staff and occasionally guests. Requires a minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Related work experience preferred. Knowledge of network cabling, T568A/B wiring standards. Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications required. Ability to critically think and use various resources, including vendor support, reference manuals, internet resources, and documentation to solve problems. Use of personal cell phone will be required for phone calls, emails, or wireless testing. Monthly reimbursement provided. Duties and Responsibilities Provide Desktop and laptop PC Support in the Bay Harbor/ Petoskey area. Perform system administration as well as day-to-day user and e-mail account administration and maintenance. Maintain stock of consumable supplies. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair/replace desktop computers, laptop computers, point of sale computers, printers, credit card devices, telephones and accessories. Configure new Telephones, Computers, and install software. Provide new users with basic instructions and assist users in solving application problems. Develop innovative ways to improve and/or streamline current processes. Assist in maintaining network related cabling infrastructure. Repair or replace defective Cat5e and Cat6 wiring. Qualifications Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to use common technician hand tools. Ability to work in areas without handicap access. Ability to work on a ladder. Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats. Ability to read manuals, documentation, and computer screens. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Valid driver’s license and functioning vehicle with current registration and insurance. Mileage reimbursement provided. Any previous experience from High School or College lab support is a plus. Available to work: days, evenings, and weekends.
