What the day will look like
AON Digital Platform Services is dedicated to delivering value, insight and innovation through data, analytics, engagement and consultancy services to insurers and/or reinsurers, across the full spectrum of insurance, reinsurance, and capital markets.
The successful candidate will join the Business Intelligence Engineering team as BI Administrator/Engineer. Key points of the role are:
+ Demonstrate expertise in Data Analytics Tech such as Power BI, Tableau & Alteryx
+ Performs BI administration activities related to hundreds of reporting and visualization capabilities.
+ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of production incidents and establish countermeasures to improve BI platforms.
+ Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements.
+ Performance tuning/server management of BI Platform environment (clustering, Load balancing).
+ Manage and support migration of BI Content from development to production environments.
+ Develop strong BI development skills, partnering with business to design Tableau/Power BI Reports/Dashboards
+ Act as the core point of contact in the center for BI platform issues / recommendations / support

Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience with BI technologies, preferably Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI
+ Degree in IT or Science 3rd level qualification with high analytical content (such as mathematics / statistics / computer science / data analytics) would be desirable.
+ Post-graduate qualifications (in related disciplines) would be advantageous.
+ Experience with Alteryx or similar data wrangling tools highly desirable but not essential.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong knowledge of SQL
+ Windows systems administration skills (Windows Server + incl. service tasks, driver & ODBC connection management). Note O/S support is provided by another team.
+ General 3rd party software management skills – vendor engagement, renewals, licensing distribution
+ Financial or professional services industry experience (insurance, wholesale banking, retail banking) will be a distinct advantage.
+ Database connection configuration and troubleshooting (preference for basic knowledge of connection setup for Snowflake/SQL Server/Oracle/Postgres/MongoDB
+ Attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Good IT Service Management knowledge, as well as knowledge of enterprise IT frameworks (COBIT, NIST) is desirable.
+ Good interpersonal skills, self-starter with the ability to work independently and think creatively.
+ Experience with metrics and performance measurements.
+ Flexible within the role and displays a willingness to get involved in appropriate tasks as requested from time to time.
+ Must have a strong character value of teamwork, service orientation, establishing and maintaining relationships, competitive when it comes to problem solving, and calm in the face of pressure situations.
+ Experience with other Microsoft Fabric components will be an advantage.
