Detailed Job Description:

Minimum 10+ years of NetBackup admin working experience. Experience in Symantec NetBackup Admin versions on version 5, 6 and 7 or higher Experience of Tape drive troubleshooting Sound understanding of SAN and NAS storage concepts. Familiarity with Symantec NetBackup application and backup fundamentals Knowledge of the Microsoft, Solaris, AIX, and Linux platforms as it relates to mounting and managing LUN’s and HBA configuration. Ability to take Transition and create Documentation NetBackup certifications for NetBackup 7.5

Technical:

Netback L2 L3 support Design of backup setup Troubleshooting of day to day Backup operations Unix knowledge basic Change activities P1, P2 P3 support

Role Description:

Work with customers (application developers, production support analysts) to gather storage requirements. Direct experience with the NetBackup product as a Backup Administrator. Coordinate the Engineering, Integration, and Administration Functions required to successfully deliver capabilities and services to the enterprise. Experience working tapes and offsite backup Administering Tape Libraries and encryption systems. Work with Systems and Database administrators to ensure storage is integrated properly into the systems. Respond to incidents including - Storage performance issues Failures in the storage infrastructure Participate in project work streams to design and build new IT solutions
