**Job Responsibilities:**
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Create, communicate, and coordinate software licensing compliance for ITS owned software, while partnering with non-ITS departments such as Budget, Procurement, and Legal to create solutions to support a university-wide process. Ensures compliance with software licensing agreements and service contracts, and timely renewal and termination of contracts.
+ Prepare software licensing metrics and reports. Provides strategic input and analysis to ITS leaders on trends and recommendations of licensing actions, risk mitigation, or cost savings.
+ Allocate and approve subscriptions to appropriate internal users, tracks usage, and work with non-ITS departments to identify areas to leverage existing solutions, optimize utilization, and reduce cost.
+ Develop and maintain a software subscription repository for ITS owned software. Manage, track, and update contract and subscription renewals and license terms in license management system (iContracts). Maintains a catalog of ITS contracts and licenses, supplier records, service level agreements, and software license information/updates.
+ Partner with the software licensing team to ensure successful deployment of licenses. Ensure processes, procedures, and training associated with software licenses are effectively articulated to stakeholders. Facilitate meetings, coordinate tasks for software asset management, and escalate barriers and provide resolution options.
+ Coordinates purchasing processes, generates purchase requisitions, creates journal entries, performs procurement card reconciliations, calculates departmental chargebacks, provides input into budget process, and reviews reports related to software and IT services, contracts, and licenses.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
+ 2 years of experience in asset management, software licensing, IT project coordination or management, or related experience.
+ An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
+ Excellent communication skills, with a patient and clear communication style for working across various departments.
+ Experience in managing software licenses, including renewals and cancellations.
+ Proven experience in working with external vendors on licensing agreements and related negotiations.
+ Familiarity with asset management and inventory tracking systems.
+ Basic understanding of accounting and budgeting for software expenses.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Certifications: Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) Certificate or Certified Software Manager (CSM) Certificate
+ Software: Experience with Workday or iContracts

**Job Summary:**
RIT is looking for an IT Financial & Licensing Specialist to join the Information & Technology Services (ITS) Project Management Office.
As part of the ITS Project Management office, the IT Financial & Licensing Specialist will manage and coordinate software licensing tracking and compliance across Information Technology Services. The IT Financial & Licensing Specialist will also coordinate purchasing processes including generating purchase requisitions and preforming procurement card reconciliations.
The IT Financial & Licensing Specialist will possess analytical skills, an understanding of the software asset management lifecycle, licensing, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. This position serves as a trusted advisor to management and is expected to share expertise with others, and provide guidance, coaching, and training to business partners.
