Job Overview
The Application Development Manager will lead the design, development, and support of custom applications on the Azure platform, as well as Power Apps and other low-code/no-code solutions. This role will focus on optimizing application performance, defining monitoring standards, and ensuring operational efficiency. The successful candidate will oversee a team of developers and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality, robust applications that support our digital transformation goals.
Key Job Responsibilities
+ Lead the end-to-end development of custom applications using Azure, Power Apps, and low-code/no-code platforms.
+ Oversee the team’s project workflows, from requirement gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment.
+ Ensure development projects meet business requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
+ Develop and implement application performance monitoring, alerting, and logging standards to ensure system reliability and responsiveness.
+ Work with IT operations to set up proactive monitoring systems and establish performance KPIs for applications on Azure and other platforms.
+ Establish incident response and root cause analysis processes for application performance issues, ensuring quick resolution and prevention strategies.
+ Oversee the efficient operation of custom applications, optimizing performance, scalability, and security.
+ Manage application updates and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to end users and maximum benefit to business operations.
+ Establish a robust support framework, ensuring timely resolution of application issues and continuous improvement of platform reliability.
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of application developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
+ Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure the successful alignment of technology solutions with business goals.
+ Partner with IT security and infrastructure teams to ensure that applications adhere to security and compliance standards.
+ Stay current with advancements in Azure, Power Apps, low-code/no-code technologies, and recommend new tools and methodologies to enhance the development process.
+ Identify opportunities to streamline and automate workflows, driving productivity and reducing operational costs.
+ Promote the adoption of best practices for code quality, reusability, and documentation across development teams.
Qualifications/Requirements
Educational Background:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in cloud technologies (Azure) or low-code platforms (Power Apps) is a plus.
Experience:
+ 8+ years of experience in application development, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
+ Proven experience with Azure cloud services, Power Apps, and low-code/no-code application platforms, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing context.
Technical Skills:
+ Strong expertise in Azure services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure DevOps.
+ Proficiency in Power Apps and Power Automate, with hands-on experience in developing low-code/no-code solutions.
+ Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.
+ Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization strategies for applications.
Soft Skills & Competencies:
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical issues and drive solutions.
+ Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentoring and empowering team members.
+ Strong communication skills, able to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $130,000-$160,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
