IT Manager
IT Manager Transdev in Baltimore, MD (Charm City Circulator)isseeking a skilled and proactive IT Manager to lead the technology operations for our fixed-route bus system. The IT Manager will oversee all transit-related technology infrastructure (e.g., AVL, real-time passenger information, vehicle tracking, passenger counters), ensuring reliable service delivery, system integrity, and ongoing technical improvements.In addition, oversee all office technology needs. Key Responsibilities: + Administer and maintain all fixed-route ITS hardware and software systems, including those provided by Passio. + Monitor and ensure uptime and functionality of AVL, CAD/AVL, onboard Wi-Fi, APCs, and digital signage systems. + Coordinate with Passio support to address service issues, software updates, and integration requests. + Install, configure, and support Microsoft Office. + Extensive knowledge of installation and configuration of Microsoft Office + Oversee installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of vehicle hardware (e.g., routers, modems, tablets, GPS units). + Ensure accurate data capture from buses for reporting ridership, on-time performance, and service planning. + Create and maintain real-time dashboards and generate monthly performance reports from Passio and other platforms. + Serve as the primary point of contact with Passio Technologies and other transit tech vendors. + Coordinate service-level agreements (SLAs), contracts, upgrades, and licensing renewals. + Provide hands-on support for IT issues affecting operations staff and drivers. + Develop and deliver training materials for staff on technology tools and platforms. + Lead IT projects related to transit technology upgrades, deployments, and system integrations. + Work closely with operations and planning teams to align IT initiatives with agency goals. + Manage all aspects of office moves, including phone system and network services and configuration, security systems (entry areas and video systems). + Manage regional hardware and software upgrades. + Maintain operability of regional software and hardware, including servers, computers and phone systems. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Transportation Technology, or related field. + 3+ years of IT experience, preferably in transportation, transit technology, or a field involving mobile fleet systems. + Experience managing or working with Passio or similar AVL/CAD systems is highly desirable. + Strong knowledge of networking, cloud systems, Windows OS, and mobile device management. + Ability to read technical documentation, diagnose system issues, and implement solutions efficiently. + Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. + Comfortable working in an operational environment that includes fieldwork with vehicle systems. + CompTIA Network+, A+, or Security+ (preferred) + Microsoft or Cisco certifications (preferred) + Project Management Professional (PMP) Foundation a plus (preferred) Physical Requirements: + Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. + The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen. + The work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors. + Office and field-based work environment + Must have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
