IT Manager - Power Operations Solutions

This role works closely with the Power Operations teams to ensure technology solutions enhance reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This leader will oversee the technology supporting energy generation, market bidding and settlements, and regulatory reporting. Beyond traditional IT service delivery, this role requires strategic foresight to anticipate future needs, optimize existing platforms, and align technology investments with business goals. The team consists of six professionals, including developers, analysts, and project managers, with potential for adjustments based on business priorities. Success in this position will be measured by the execution and impact of IT initiatives on business operations, system stability, and compliance. **Career Level Summary** Manager, Application Development 6686 Grade 9 Career Level: M2 **Key Responsibilities** **IT Leadership & Strategy** + Define and execute the IT strategy for Power Operations, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. + Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, serving as a trusted advisor and technology partner. + Lead a team of six IT professionals, including developers, analysts, and project managers, with potential adjustments based on business priorities. **IT Management & Governance** + Oversee IT solutions that support energy generation, market bidding, settlements, and regulatory reporting. + Implement best practices to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations. + Establish service level agreements (SLAs) and governance frameworks for IT service delivery. **Financial & Resource Management** + Develop and manage IT budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and optimizing resource allocation. + Analyze expenditure, forecast costs, and provide recommendations to maximize IT investments. + Lead recruitment efforts, manage selection processes, and ensure staffing aligns with business needs. **Technology & Application Support** + Define standards for software development, security, and application lifecycle management. + Provide oversight on application support, system enhancements, and incident management. + Ensure business continuity by developing robust backup and disaster recovery plans. **Incident & Risk Management** + Oversee incident management processes, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption. + Analyze root causes of incidents, implement improvements, and track performance metrics. **Team & Professional Development** + Mentor and develop IT staff, fostering a culture of learning and growth. + Provide guidance on career progression and align individual goals with business objectives. **Success Measures** Success in this role is not just about ideas and vision—it’s about execution. Compensation Range: $125,790.00 - $233,610.00 Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
