IT Network Manager - Infrastructure & Telephony

The role of the Network Manager for Infrastructure Telephony, is to lead the team of network and voice engineers who manage and maintain the organization’s TCP/IP network infrastructure, wide-area networks (WAN e.g. MPLS), Local Area Network (LAN), and Voice Over IP (VOIP) connectivity.

This role also manages HDR’s voice platform and participates in the management of our datacenters.

This individual collaborates closely with their peer IT team managers in Infrastructure, Information Security and Support Services.

An efficient IT manager will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to facilitate productivity of their team members with each other, as well as collaborating with other teams.

The desired results provided by a good IT manager include achieving individual and team goals, which support stability, growth and profitability for the company. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.

Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Build and maintain a proficient team of network engineers

Monitor support and escalation requests and prioritize across the team

Document and maintain processes and procedures required for normal day-today operations

Provide technical leadership for complex project work

Take responsibility for operations of a production section, including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support.

See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through a proactive project management system.

Implement, monitor and support company policy.

Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel.

Demonstrate experience in management and development of multidiscipline teams.

Function as Project Manager and focus on production on projects, in addition to management responsibilities.

Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections.

Experience in enterprise network operations technologies such as routers, switches, routing protocols, and VLANs.

Preferred QualificationsExperience in working with business users to establish priorities and manage expectations

Self-starter, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision

Strong verbal and written communication skills and capable of performing tasks in a dynamic environment, many times working under tight delivery schedules

An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Professional networking certifications a plus – CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JNCIE or equivalent

Public cloud certifications a plus – advanced networking, cloud network engineer, or equivalent

Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field A minimum of 10 years related experience A professional registration or license Experience in working with business users to establish priorities and manage expectationsExperience in database development and administration desiredSelf-starter, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skills and capable of performing tasks in a dynamic environment, many times working under tight delivery schedulesEngineering and/or Construction background a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
