The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for an IT Network Technician in the office of Information Technology. This is a full-time position with a generous state benefits package.
The IT Network Technician is responsible for acquiring, designing, implementing, and operating the College's information technology solutions for faculty, staff, and students, including computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications, data processing, and security. Responsibilities also include providing support to users for problems associated with telecommunications networks (voice and/or data), diagnosing problem sources, and coordinating with internal support and operations groups and/or vendors to resolve problems. This position requires an understanding of technical aspects of telecommunications equipment and systems and vendor capabilities.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with at least three years of relevant experience. An associate's degree and/or technical certifications are highly preferred.

This position requires walking and standing while providing assistance to faculty, staff, and students. It may also involve bending, twisting, stooping, etc. in the performance of duties.
