Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced IT Operations Engineer to join our FPS Global Digital Products & Delivery Data and Analytics team hosted in Azure. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring data pipelines through Azure Data Factory (ADF), managing manual data refreshes, and executing various IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, problem, and change management. This role will also involve delivering production releases through GitHub and supporting users in resolving data quality issues. A strong emphasis will be placed on experience in IT operations, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to service excellence while meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Continuously looking for opportunities to drive efficiencies through standardization, automation, and simplification.

Responsibilities:

Monitoring Data Pipelines:

Monitor and maintain data pipelines through Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ensure efficient and reliable data processing.

Manage monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and optimize performance.

Data Refreshes:

Coordinate and execute manual data refreshes, ensuring timely updates of data to meet business needs.

Develop and document best practices for manual data processes to enhance efficiency.

Incident Management:

Manage the incident management process, promptly responding to and resolving incidents related to data operations.

Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures to minimize disruptions.

Problem Management:

Identify and analyze problems within the IT environment and work collaboratively to find effective solutions.

Document problems and solutions to be maintained in our knowledge base for future reference.

Change Management:

Participate in change management processes, ensuring that all changes to data operations are properly documented, tested, and communicated to stakeholders.

Work with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of changes on operations.

Release Management:

Delivering production releases through GitHub

Oversee releases to production, coordinating with development and QA teams to ensure successful deployments.

Data Quality Support:

Assist users in identifying and resolving data quality issues related to completeness, consistency, uniqueness, and availability.

Collaborate with data stewards to define data quality metrics and ensure adherence to data governance policies.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT / Computer Science, Computer/Systems/Industrial Engineering,  or Software Development or relevant disciplines

3+ years experience in running IT Operations with at least ITIL V4 Foundation certification.

3+ years experience in cloud technologies. Related certifications would be an advantage (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Data Engineer, Databricks).

Proficient in SQL and experience with data models and databases.

Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively translate technical language to business language.

Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
