IT PROGRAM MANAGER

Title: IT Program Manager

The IT Program Manager/IT Chief of Staff will play a critical role in aligning IT initiatives with organizational goals, coordinating cross-departmental projects, and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic IT programs. This position requires a high level of strategic planning, organizational oversight, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. This role involves serving as a trusted advisor to the VP of IT and facilitating collaboration across IT teams and stakeholders to drive excellence in execution and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Alignment:

Collaborate with the VP of IT to define and execute the IT department’s strategic objectives. Ensure alignment of IT programs and projects with broader business goals and organizational priorities. Develop and maintain an IT roadmap that integrates cross-departmental projects and initiatives.

Program and Project Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects and programs, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and budgets. Establish and manage governance frameworks for prioritizing and tracking IT initiatives. Monitor project performance and report on key metrics to stakeholders and leadership.

Operational Oversight:

Act as a central point of coordination for IT department activities, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between teams. Identify and resolve bottlenecks or challenges that impede program delivery. Provide proactive support to the VP of IT in managing day-to-day priorities, including occasional assistance with ad-hoc tasks to ensure seamless operations. Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance IT operations and project management.

Stakeholder Management and Communication:

Serve as a liaison between the VP of IT, department heads, and external stakeholders. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to leadership and key stakeholders. Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, and decision-making sessions. Plan and organize departmental events, such as town halls, to enhance transparency and team collaboration.

Resource Management:

Work with IT leaders to allocate resources effectively across projects and initiatives. Ensure optimal utilization of personnel, tools, and technology to achieve departmental objectives.

Change Management:

Lead and support change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technologies. Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department.

 

The Job Details:

Location and Department: Camden, NJ, IT Reports to: Vice President of IT Travel Amount: 5-10% Job Type, EEO, and Job Code: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt Salaried, Bi-Weekly Paid Salary Range: $140,000.00-$160,000.00 Per Year

 

What We Are Looking for:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. PMP, PgMP, or SAFe certification is highly desirable. ITIL or similar certifications are a plus.

Experience:

8+ years of experience in IT program management, project management, or similar roles. Proven experience managing complex IT programs with multiple stakeholders. Experience in an Agile or hybrid project management environment is a plus.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of program and project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile). Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels. Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, or similar).
