Job Summary

The Department of Pathology, Division of Pathology Informatics (PI) is seeking a team member to fill an IT Project Senior Manager position. Under general direction, the project manager is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of IT projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.  The project manager will primarily work with other members of the PI leadership team in and other leaders within the Department of Pathology.  This person will serve at the point person for project intake, review and tracking of active, pending and deferred projects submitted to PI.

In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to work well in a team environment Excellent communication skillsDemonstrated project management skills such as prioritization, planning, scheduling and budgeting

Intermediate:

4 or more years of relevant experience in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience with project management4 or more years of experience working is a large complex healthcare environment

Senior:

7 or more years of experience in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience with project management7 or more years of experience working in a large healthcare environmentDesired Qualifications*Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies and proceduresExperience with Pathology specific needs and workflowsCompleted PMP certification or active progress toward completionKnowledge of workflow in a clinical laboratoryLEAN trainingModes of Work

Background Screening
