IT Project Management Specialist

Applicants for staff positions do not need to have a barrier to employment to be eligible for these roles.* *To ensure full consideration for a staff position, please attach a resume to your application so we can gain a complete view of your experiences* Peckham, Inc. - IT Project Management Specialist SUMMARY The IT Project Management Specialist will support the planning, execution, and completion of technology related projects in partnership with customers and IT staff. This role focuses on providing subject matter expertise in facilitating operational business requirements and solution proposals. The IT Project Management Specialist will lead in coordinating tasks, managing documentation, tracking projects, and effectively communicating with key stakeholders. Additionally, they will also lead the requirement gathering, analysis, planning, and implementation to ensure that final deliverables of a project meet operational and mission needs. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Develop, manage and lead various large scope projects that directly impact Peckham’s mission objectives and IT operations. + Develop strategic and comprehensive project plans including the defining of project deliverables, objectives, and metrics. + Collaborate and partner with stakeholders through effectively managing relationships and expectations regarding IT projects. + Track, monitor, and report project progress and communicate key milestones to ensure timely completion and quality of outcomes. + Facilitate effective communications and meetings with project teams, partners, and stakeholders ensuring the completion of tasks and activities for timely completion of projects and deliverables. + Evaluate the impact of projects on mission and key business objectives. + Provide feedback to stakeholders and project team members to ensure that projects are on track. + Set and establish clear goals and expectations related to IT projects as identified in partnership with IT staff and customers + Translate user and system requirements into technical specifications + Advise customers on technology capabilities and potential solutions + Utilize project management tools to coordinate and track project status + Effectively manage project efforts, to include project plan, scope/budget/resource management, time management (activities & task planning, communications, risk management, QA and testing, user training, ongoing maintenance and support + Analyze, foresee and mitigate potential risks associated with projects and decisions through problem solving and critical thinking + Prepare written research information, design plans, and diagrams along with detailed implementation plans for assigned projects + Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements, Business Requirements, Documents, Implementation Plans, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs) + Documents, tracks, monitors, and reports on the status and timeliness of these requirements + Track and monitor issues that arise in projects and help troubleshoot challenges that occur + Assist with budgeting and expense tracking for project-related activities OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Maintain safe and clean work environment + Promote Peckham’s vision values and services to all customers and stakeholders + Assist in maintaining organizational wide quality standards + Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This role does not have supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + A Bachelors degree in Information Technologies, Computer Science, or closely related field of study strongly preferred, and /or three or more years’ experience demonstrating most of the competencies and proficiencies above; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + 2-4 years experience managing IT projects + This position requires passing and maintaining federal and state security background checks as well as obtaining security clearances to meet contract requirements. + U.S. Citizenship required due to security clearances. + Limited travel may be required to Peckham locations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse user community and present ideas and solutions using written, graphical and oral methods in a user-friendly fashion to both technical and non-technical staff. + Ability to gather information, evaluate options, and produce accurate data that may be applied to specific solutions. + Motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented individual + Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; ability to effectively multi-task + Experience in Information Technology systems, methodology, language and processes. + Time management, organizational skills, and prioritization is essential. + PMP or CAPM certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities on a case-by-case basis.
