IT Project Manager

Position Summary
The Project Manager oversees implementation of new clinical and business applications, system upgrades, application rollouts, and infrastructure and networking projects. External consultants, contracted resources, and customer employees may also report in to project teams during the project lifecycle. The Project Manager provides outstanding client service
and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following:
1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
2. Develops the project work plan, work breakdown structure, and schedule using a designated project management tool for
project team usage. Project Plans include sufficient task level detail to capture known dependencies and major milestones.
3. Management of all projects assigned to oversee.
4. Utilize effective project and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Ensure all projects are consistent with overall customer objectives and strategic plans.
6. Manage the day-to-day activities of cross-functional project teams and ensures the adherence to the project plan.
7. Deploy best practices approach defined by Project Delivery Services team.
8. Work to control change, adjust the budget, timeline, and project scope to accommodate approved changes.
9. Produces timely, detailed summaries and high level reports
10. Provide project schedule, actual vs. budget, and earned value information in project progress reports.
11. Identifies and mitigates project risk, keeping issues visible, to avoid impacting the project's success.
12. Confirm the alignment of customer expectations and project goals.
13. Ensure proper quality assurance and user acceptance of solutions prior to implementation.
14. Review and finalize deliverables and monitor quality control.
15. Develop customer Return on Investment metrics for project, based on customer objectives.
16. Develops and maintains all strong working relationships with all key stakeholders including, Client Executives, Product
Managers, and Resource Allocation Manager.
17. Coordinate with Client Executives and Product Directors to align all projects with customer's strategic objectives
18. Collaborate with Resource Allocation Manager to ensure associates with required skills are available to support the
implementation of new system solutions.
19. Management of all resources assigned to projects.
20. Motivate, guide and lead implementation staff to achieve organizational goals and satisfy customers.
21. Proactively identify project and staff related issues.
22. Participate in performance appraisals and contribute to project team associate's performance appraisals.
23. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Demonstrated experience managing IT projects in an enterprise environment
Experience working with tool to create and manage project plans using MS project Implementation management
Experience managing project budgets
Background in hospital/medical claims processes and knowledge of claims workflow is a requirement

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
