IT Project Manager

Responsibilities Major Job Activities: The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the cradle to crave planning, executing, and closing of a simulation training focused delivery order. The PM is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts. This role will establish and implements project management processes and methodologies to manage projects that are consistently delivered on time, within budget, and within quality standards. This resource will coordinate with business resources, and engineering teams to assemble project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating scope, quality, timeline, and cost issues appropriately. The PM shall be responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Applicants must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques. Description: Planning and delivering IT projects that improve or transform business outcomes managed in the following software package; IFS, UKG (Ulti Pro), UTA (Ulti Time and Attendance), Kyriba, and SAP Concur. Key Responsibilites: Act as overall lead, manager, and administrator for project. Support budgeting, project, and pogram planning, and maintain program information. Serve as the primary interface and Point of Contact with government program team on program/project actions. Oversee contractor execution of contractor requirements. Manage acquisition and employment of program and project resources. Support project leads in the performance of program tasks, respond to administrative and programmatic data calls, and provide administrative planning related to program events and the day-to-day operations of assigned projects. Potential travel may be required to support customer requirements as needed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. College degree or equivalent experience, technical degree beneficial. Certifications/Licenses: Certification in any of the following disciplines a must – PMP/Prince2, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Design Thinking, ITIL. Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent required. 8+ years in IT project or program management experience in a company with proven success implementing business improvements through IT systems. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with senior leaders to accomplish project goals and deliver business outcomes. Experience with financial ERP technology and understanding of finance processes or experience with some combination of HR, payroll, and supply chain technologies and processes a plus. Expertise in a project management methodology, techniques, and tools. Proven experience in people management, risk management, and change management. Demonstrated ability to understand quality objectives and manage teams to deliver to expected quality outcomes. Exposure to evaluating and managing work delivered by IT consultants / 3rd party suppliers. The ability to strategically resolve change management issues within deadlines while utilizing persuasive, professional tenacity without the direct authority to do so (indirect reports). Must be able to articulate strategy to indirect reports and set priorities of the team in complex situations with competing priorities. Supervisory / Budgetary Responsibilities Position will manage IT and business resources assigned to specific projects in performance of this position. Desired Qualifications: Experience: Using Microsoft tools to define, plan, and execute information technology projects. Effectively using Microsoft Office tools to collaborate and communicate with IT and business stakeholders. Skilled at successfully implementing software and core IT technology that addresses business challenges / risks. Quickly learning new technologies and business processes to effectively manage IT implementations. Tailoring of development methodologies to meet the unique requirements of a project that mitigates risk and lowers cost in the planning phase of a project. Skills & Technology Used Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: Possesses both analytical and interpersonal skills. Good problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills/techniques. Business Partner/Effective Communicator: English language skills to communicate and negotiate with vendors. Strong communicator must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally. Ability to train, lead projects, direct employees. Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior, multi-task capability. Software: Microsoft Office Suite.
