IT Project Manager
THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION Primary Duties 1. Responsible for leading projects from the original concept through final implementation. 2. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project cost, resource allocation, project scope, project goals and project deliverables that align with business objectives. 3. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, risk assessments throughout the life of the project, under guidance from senior management. 4. Monitors project activity to ensure adherence to IT Project Management policies, procedures and standards. 5. Works under the direction of PMO, stakeholder, project leadership, resource managers and other departmental staff to ensure proper project staffing. 6. Assists in the assessment and the identification of the appropriate delivery approach for any given project; utilizes a variety of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Hybrid, Agile). 7. Leads a cross-departmental team through all phases of the project from initiation, analyze, design, development, test, deployment and warranty phases of the project. 8. Assists in the development of the initial baseline project budget; maintains and tracks spending and project forecasts through project completion in order to ensure budget adherence. 9. Communicates to various levels or project leadership, up to and including Executive Steering Committee and Project Sponsors on plans, project status, risks and issues, team performance, and project financials. 10. Partners with Project Leadership to manage risk by routinely identifying, assessing, and developing mitigation plans for events that could impact the success of the project. 11. Collaborates to develop deployment and production readiness plans in partnership with application support groups to ensure the appropriate transition of project activities into support. 12. Participates in the evaluation of Organizational Change Management activities and, as necessary, collaborates with stakeholders to create and implement OCM plans to ensure successful user adoption. Educational/Experience Level: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business or a related field and/or 3-5 years related experience in IT project management. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Qualifications: Proven track record of successfully managing IT projects Analytical and problem-solving abilities Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality Effective time management and prioritization capabilities Strong strategic thinking capabilities Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development and system integration Proficient in project management software (i.e. MS Project, Teams) Communication Skills: Requires the ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical and/or complex nature. Numeric Skills: Requires the ability to perform algebraic, trigonometric and geometric operations and/or moderately complex statistical and/or accounting methods. Computer Skills: Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications and multiple technologies to create documents, reports and/or graphics. Physical Demands: Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
