What You Will Do
The IT Project Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the acquisition of data, resources and information to implement new functionality on a large-scale modernization project. This position requires a seasoned professional with a robust background in flood insurance, emergency management, project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams towards project goals. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of project deliverables for modernization project, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Domain Expertise
Offer in-depth knowledge of flood insurance policies, underwriting, claims, and regulatory compliance.Define business needs through collaboration with Business Analysts and federal Product Owners to refine requirements for the modernization effort.Assess current versus future state through the identification of gaps between existing system and the target state.IT Project Management
Clarify ambiguities by ensuring requirements are clear, testable, and aligned with business objectives.Active engagement with stakeholders and development teams to validate technical feasibility and confirming that requirements are technically viable.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and deadlines.Monitor project progress, providing recommendations for corrective actions that assist with keeping the project on track.Proactively evaluate risks and issues, escalating critical matters to the Delivery, Development or DevOps Lead, or other senior management as needed.Scheduling and Planning
Support roadmap development activities by assisting in the phased implementation plan for system modernization.Contribute to prioritized features that help define priority levels for system functionality based on business impact.Collaborate with integrated team on sprint planning and refinement, working closely with Agile teams to ensure accurate estimation and scheduling of work items.Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and bridge between flood insurance business units, technical team, and executive sponsors.Ensure regulatory compliance alignment with FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and other governing bodies.Facilitate regular communication and status updates with stakeholders to ensure transparency and manage expectations.Guide user training development and change management efforts to help stakeholders adapt to system changes.
