Job Summary
The IT Property Technology Manager is part of the Network Infrastructure team and oversees and manages large-scale, low voltage property technology installations, including managed Wi-Fi, package lockers, access control, security gates and cameras for new and current apartment communities in the MAA portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees and manages large-scale, low voltage property technology installations, including managed Wi-Fi, package lockers, access control, security gates and cameras for new and current apartment communities, from inception to completion.
Frequently collaborates with IT and project management office resources and vendors for managed Wi-Fi installations across multiple properties within a geographically distributed portfolio. Reports and resolves critical issues in coordination with on-site property management.
Develops and maintains installation project schedules and ensures all milestones and deadlines are met. Coordinates with project management office resources and assists with all technical aspects of managed installation projects.
Prepares, maintains, and communicates installation project status reports to internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, asset management, project management office).
Travels frequently to conduct regular on-site property visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise. Troubleshoots and resolves network and low voltage issues to ensure optimal performance.
Ensures compliance with company low voltage standards, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and any other related federal, state, or local industry regulations.
Maintains technical knowledge and expertise through continuous learning and development.
Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, information technology, or a related technical field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience managing large-scale, low voltage technology installation projects required
Network and low voltage troubleshooting experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Low Voltage certification from the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) or the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical knowledge and expertise in Wi-Fi networking fundamentals, configuration, design, and managed solutions
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to low voltage installations
Knowledge and skill to interpret technical business requirements and diagrams
Project management knowledge and expertise to document, organize, prioritize, and manage installations to meet deadlines
Skill and ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing, including conveying technical concepts to non-IT audiences
Skill and ability to operate independently and collaborate as part of a team.
Customer services skills to troubleshoot and optimize technical issues
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain appropriate discretion
Ability to travel frequently (50%) by commercial aviation for on-site property visits
