TOP 3-5 DELIVERABLES:

1. Release Plan

• Description: A detailed document outlining the scope, schedule, and resources required for the release. It includes the features or changes being introduced, timelines, responsible teams, and any dependencies.

• Why It’s Critical: The release plan serves as the roadmap for all stakeholders, providing clarity on what will be released, when, and how. It helps in coordinating efforts across development, operations, and business teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned.

2. Deployment Plan

• Description: A step-by-step guide to executing the deployment process, including the specific environments (e.g., staging, production), deployment methods, rollback procedures, and validation steps.

• Why It’s Critical: This plan ensures that the deployment is executed smoothly and consistently. It also mitigates risks by outlining fallback and rollback strategies if issues arise during deployment.

3. Release Package

• Description: A bundle containing the actual code, configuration files, scripts, and documentation needed to implement the release. This may also include automated tests, monitoring configurations, and any other necessary resources for a successful deployment.

• Why It’s Critical: The release package is what gets deployed into production. Ensuring it is complete, well-structured, and contains all necessary components is essential for a seamless release.

4. Test and Validation Reports

• Description: A collection of reports that document the testing process, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT). These reports confirm whether the release meets the required quality standards and is ready for deployment.

• Why It’s Critical: These reports validate the release, ensuring that it has been tested thoroughly and meets both technical and business requirements. They provide assurance that the release will not cause unexpected issues in production.

5. Post-Release Review (Release Notes)

• Description: A detailed summary of what was included in the release, including new features, bug fixes, known issues, and any changes made to the system. It also documents lessons learned and any post-release incidents or problems.

• Why It’s Critical: Release notes communicate the impact of the release to stakeholders, including end-users, technical teams, and business units. The post-release review ensures continuous improvement by capturing insights and lessons learned for future releases.
