IT Senior Business Analyst

And under this roof, we protect what matters most. **Job Summary** The Senior Business Analyst will have responsibility for performing detailed analysis and documenting business requirements and system impact to ensure the successful delivery and support of various GAF applications. Responsible for completing assigned analyst duties with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously – of varying size and complexity (small, medium or large) in addition to capturing and documenting analysis information for minor system fixes / enhancements. **Essential Duties** + Understanding GAF’s applications and the interdependencies with other corporate and external systems + Gaining extensive knowledge of business processes, issues and data challenges + Understanding the business needs and requests, identifying solutions, gathering information, and translating business needs to functional specifications that are understandable to business and IT personnel alike + Responsible for documenting business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, workflow diagrams, interface designs, etc. + Leverage experience to recommend industry standard and best practice solutions + Working with the business to analyze business processes and system issues and turn them into actionable system changes that benefit the requesting party(s), improve efficiency in operations and overall performance + Collaborate with the development team to coordinate the system changes and the Quality Assurance team to ensure appropriate system testing + May have responsibility for preparing and executing test scripts on an as needed basis + Assisting in user acceptance testing to ensure appropriate and adequate system testing is performed + Facilitating and leading requirement gathering / JAD sessions. Utilizing multiple methods - interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits etc. to gather requirements + System Configuration - as necessary analyzing and implementing configuration changes + Responsible for attaining full knowledge of functional area actively contributing to the overall success of the IT department, active participation in meetings, and regular status updates to management. **Under This Roof We Require** + Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or relevant experience coupled with 10+ years of IT Required + business/industry work experience as well as 8+ years’ experience in systems analysis and design with proven record of successful large scale project implementations Required + Prior experience with TFS and MS Project Server Required + Intermediate experience with ERP applications Required + Strong experience in business process design and re-engineering and workflow analysis Required **Under This Roof We Also Value** + PeopleSoft Preferred **General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Very Strong general business knowledge + Strong ability to influence and drive cross-functional decisions and initiatives + Very Strong drive for results + Very Strong ability to think conceptually and forward thinking all of the time + Strong estimating skills + Strong ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user friendly language + Strong ability to Multi Task + Very Strong Prioritization skills + Very Strong Analysis & Problem Solving Skills + Strong Adaptability + Good Vendor Management Skills **Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Very Strong experience / ability in documenting systems analysis and design using various methods to include but not exclusive to business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, swim lanes + Strong modeling capabilities to document use cases / test scenarios, data, processes and events + Strong knowledge and execution of IT Standards, Policies and Procedures + Intermediate knowledge of and execution of SDLC + Intermediate knowledge of Information Security Awareness + Good knowledge of General Project Management Methodology & Tools + Advanced knowledge of GAF Systems, Applications, & Technologies + Strong understanding of basic web and client / server architectures + Good knowledge of emerging technologies + Strong knowledge of SQL query preferred + Good UI design skills + Working knowledge of the following Microsoft tools is desired: BizTalk, Analysis Services, Reporting Services and Integration Services **Leadership/Supervisor Experience** + Minimal supervision and oversight required + Adherence to performance review and goal setting process + Proactively works with manager to identify training needs to expand and improve skills + Provide on-the-job training/support to new/other team members + Proactively seeks guidance from other team members when needed + Strong ability to apply feedback received to day-to-day work and strives to improve performance + May review completion/quality of work performed by other team members + Proactively seeks opportunities to serve in leadership roles + Good ability to provide coaching and mentoring to other team members on a regular basis Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications.
