Scope 

Boise Cascade’s - Building Materials Distribution (BMD) division is seeking a highly motivated leader to be its Information Technology (IT) Manager. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role leading and directing all facets of BMD’s IT functions and participating in its business planning to bring current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems to the entire organization. This position will involve demonstrating leadership and expertise for business technology initiatives, managing technical projects, providing exceptional customer service to division support teams and all operating locations, overseeing and managing positive relationships with service providers, and facilitating learning, development and growth opportunities for IT associates by department (infrastructure/hardware, software applications, EDI, and information management).   

Responsibilities 

Leadership of the division's information technology (IT) functions including direction and control of enterprise applications and systems deployment, network systems, hardware acquisition and installation, daily software application support, data and integration management, endpoint infrastructure and security (including voice and mobile), and data processing operations (on-premises and public cloud). Oversight responsibility for the division’s information technology (IT) strategy, annual operating plans, technical projects, and initiatives, including current knowledge along with a willingness and interest to proactively explore, evaluate, and implement new value-add technologies for the organization. Consistent collaboration and influence with division and corporate IT departments responsible for deploying and maintaining business-specific applications to ensure ongoing system performance, results, and compliance with established standards. Ensure integrity of data, proprietary information, related intellectual property through information security, cybersecurity measures, access management, data privacy, and oversight of IT policy and compliance requirements. Develops IT policy, establishes guidelines/standards, sets objectives, participates in broader IT strategy development and deployment with senior leadership. Provides leadership to managers, supervisors, and professional staff. Direct reporting for four departments and overall management and supervision responsibilities for a team of approximately forty associates (on premises and remote). Create, promote, and enforce department and functional strategies and procedures. Demonstrates strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications: 

At least 10 years of experience leading information technology functions, business transformation initiatives, and/or major development programs Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant field of study Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the manufacturing, distribution, or building materials industry Proven experience in vendor management and process improvement Certification(s) in IT governance, security, operations, and/or control
