IT Senior Specialist - Internal Controls

Job Summary:

Altair is looking for a motivated and a results-oriented candidate to join our team as an IT Senior Specialist of Internal Controls, focusing on administering our ITGC SOX compliance program. The IT Senior Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager of Internal Controls and is responsible for executing the ITGC testing program focusing on and assisting with all aspects of our SOX program including scoping, program management, and reporting that drives results, accountability and value for the company. The candidate will have hands-on experience working with management to assess the effectiveness of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, with the goal of achieving high level of operational excellence, minimizing deficiencies and mitigating risk for the company. 

What You Will Do:

Partner with Internal Controls leadership along with various business owners and finance teams including Accounting, Financial Planning, Operations, IT and Tax to evaluate current design and operating effectiveness and recommend best in class controls, driving change throughout the processes across our global operations Be a highly motivated self-starter that is innovative with a desire to continuously improve processes and the control environment Work closely with Internal Controls team (may include co-source partners) to help ensure effective and efficient execution of the SOX program Work closely with control owners to support the annual SOX cycle of risk assessments, walkthroughs, control refreshes Assist in educating the team on proper control execution, audit evidence, stay ahead of trends and ensure teams are operating to the latest standards Deliver timely and concise communication Be a great partner; establish and maintain excellent relationships within the team, cosourcing partners and external auditors, as required Proactively anticipate changing needs/opportunities in our SOX program 

What You Will Need:

Basics:

Understanding of core IT general control processes (e.g., Information Security, Change Management, Agile System Development Lifecycle, IT Operations etc.). Strong understanding of IT risk and general information security concepts and technology infrastructure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have a bachelor's degree. A Degree in Computer Science and/or Information Systems is preferred. 3+ Years of related experience in IT audit, IT operations, IT SOX programs, or consulting
Strong understanding of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX). Understanding of Business Process controls is a plus. Knowledge of technical platforms, networks, security concepts, and data retrieval techniques. The ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with internal departments, IT personnel, internal and external auditors while explaining their findings, and meeting face to face with other interested parties to communicate their findings. 

Preferred:

CISA, and/or CPA/CIA certification desired. Public accounting or software industry preferred
