Job Description IT Service Desk Analyst Internship Job Summary: The Information Technology (IT) Internship position provides educational opportunities for college students close to graduation to work at the YMCA to gain IT skills for future employment. Duties and responsibilities vary based on assignment and needs of the YMCA department or project. This role is instrumental in ensuring the productivity of our team members by maintaining our employee’s technology and application platforms and providing exceptional service. This is a 6-month paid internship with the possibility of a full-time employment. The salary for this intern position starts at $18.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status. Essential Functions: · Provide tier 1 IT Service Desk support to YMCA of the North (YOTN) team members by responding to service requests and tickets submitted through ServiceNow IT service desk software, phone calls, instant messages and walk ins. · Accurately and efficiently configure and maintain computer hardware and software-including Microsoft operating system, applications, upgrades, and software patches. · Maintain network and application passwords and permissions in an Active Directory environment. · Conduct adds, moves, and changes to internal voice and data communications systems including computers, telephone system, voice mail system and cabling. · Develop and maintain documentation, processes, and checklists for dynamically changing technical operations related to office technology according to guidance from management and supplier best-practices. · Support and assist team member’s mobile devices and apps for Android and iOS. · Demonstrates behaviors and actions consistent with YOTN values, code of conduct and other policies and procedures. · Performs duties and responsibilities as outlined for the task or projects assigned. · Participates in training and application of skills necessary to perform assigned duties and responsibilities. · Communicates with identified internship supervisor reporting on progress, making recommendations, preparing reports, etc. and obtains feedback from internship supervisor to enhance skill development. Relationships: · This position reports to the IT Service Desk Leads who reports to the next level manager for the assigned department. The incumbent interacts regularly with staff and may participate in meetings to complete assignments or projects. Qualifications: · Must be at least 18 years of age. · High School graduate or equivalent. · Pursuing or completed a degree in information technology in one or more of the following areas: computer hardware and software development, networking, computer repair, technical support, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. · Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. · Good verbal and written communication skills. · Commitment to fulfill scheduled hours of 30-40 hours per week to accomplish assigned duties & tasks. · Willingness to learn and ask questions to enhance the development process. Preferred · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Valid driver’s license and transportation for on-site service calls Physical Demands: · Ability to travel to local meeting locations within the Twin Cities metro area. · Ability to lift 50lbs. · General office work demands organizing and lifting computers.
