Position Overview:

Configure, develop, maintain and support Micron and third party applications. Create and analyze software specifications, and research, design, document, modify, and support software throughout the development life cycle. Demonstrate the functional and technical skills necessary to switch between development technologies and merge them to deliver the best solution. Proven ability to create quality software and participate in quality improvement efforts. Provide solutions that create business value while at the same time minimizing negative impact through defects, downtime, or performance degradation.

 

Responsibilities:

-Coordination and support of tool automation

Work with area experts and automation developers to automate tools and implement host enhancements in a timely manner

Assist in the prioritization and requirement gathering for new hosts and host enhancements

Work with the automation developers and tool owners to schedule tool time for automation testing and upgrades

Guide and assist in GeRM, ET and Sigma setup as tool owners and automation developers craft and test new hosts and improvements

Participate in a wide variety of automation projects such as BiRD, RPA, and FDC

Strive for automation alignment of the 300mm Fabs. Actively work with representatives world wide to implement the best know system

Maintain documentation around procedures and protocols

Weekly status reports to managers for all ongoing projects

Aid in debugging automation problems within a daily support role

-Provide automation software support and integration.

Support software development teams in defining requirements for enhancements

Assist in the creation of training documentation for software enhancements

Provide testing of manufacturing applications for ECR and DAW software releases

Work with the Fab Software Support team to find and implement solutions to guarantee software resiliency

Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the MES systems, Framework, MESC, Batch Stage Controller, ToolView, Sigma, associated data, and support tools through day to day problem solving efforts

Provides and reviews reporting accuracy of R&D automation systems relative to WW standards. These reports provide access to differences within the WW 300mm Fabs

Provides action plans to maintain current standards as new systems become available or deployed

Provide 24x7 oncall/customer concern support for software issues

-Ensures Product Quality.

Completes work in an accurate and timely manner

Organizes tasks for maximum efficiency

Finishes the necessary classes and uses acquired skills and techniques in the workplace

Demonstrates awareness of changes to automation systems. Proactively looks for dependencies on these systems to prevent downtime and product risk

Provides thorough and accurate passdown for backup coverage

Does not allow idle conversation to impact productivity

-Drives Improvements & Enhancements.

Regularly makes suggestions to reduce errors

Generates alternative solutions when necessary

Offers suggestions for improvement. Provide support role for implementation

Completes documentation in a timely manner

Demonstrates proficient knowledge in software systems used in area

Demonstrates ability and desire to learn new systems and processes

Demonstrates effective trouble shooting skills in software systems used in area

Addresses issues and situations in a timely manner

-Complies with Company/Department Policies.

Maintains a clean, safe and accident-free work environment

Recognizes and reacts to safety alarms (EES, fire alarm, MDA, etc.)

Adheres to all company-wide safety procedures (PPE, EIPS)

Remains within Micron’s attendance policy

Demonstrates responsibility by being punctual to work, breaks, and lunches

Attends and actively participates in meetings

Demonstrates ability to multi-task

Follows through on commitments

Displays self-motivation/initiative to complete work, training, or projects

Delegates effectively and shares responsibilities and accountability with the group

Identify and promptly report hazards

Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety.

Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturer’s and company guidelines

Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner

 

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

-3 plus years’ in software development

-Experience with scripting languages, such as Tcl

-Experience with Unix-like operating systems

-Experience with application programming interfaces

-Experience with version control systems, such as Git

-Experience with software testing tools

-Experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps

-Experience with continuous monitoring tools like Splunk 

Preferred Qualifications:

-Understanding of ITIL Incident, Release, Change, and Problem Management practices

-Knowledge of software engineering principles and methodologies, such as agile and Scrum or Kanban

-Excellent communication and social skills

-Ability to work independently and in a team environment

-Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements
