The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Role Purpose

Corning IT is looking for an exceptional S4 Solution Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep subject matter expertise in the business and technical architecture of ERP and other applications. The Solution Architect will work closely with various teams to propose and set enterprise-wide technology architecture direction and influence investments in those technology areas.

Key Responsibilities Long-term technology planning. Technology effectiveness confirmation and execution. Enterprise level leadership and influence. Collaborate with various teams to translate business requirements and IT enterprise architecture into well-defined technical solutions/requirements. Create and maintain solutions roadmaps. Identify and recommend solution architecture that supports business and IT function strategy. Provide directionally accurate cost estimates for use in business case development. Assist with the development and encourage the adoption of reference architectures and reusable patterns. Develop design principles, design patterns, position papers, and Proof of concepts. Provide guidance and oversight to project and engineering teams. Lead project design sessions to develop end-to-end solutions for complex business problems. Handle changes or emergency transports as needed for high priority issues. Continuously expand breadth and depth of technology expertise to include applied research.

 

Experiences/Education - Required

 

Bachelor's degree in IT management, computer science, computer engineering, management information systems or related field.  SAP Functional Certifications and/or Experience. 10 years of IT or equivalent business/industry work experience in a relevant subject area. Extensive experience in working on large scale, mission-critical SAP S4 HANA deployment projects. Strong knowledge of multi-tier SAP ERP applications architecture and related infrastructure components. Strong working knowledge of business processes across the supply chain and/or finance modules. Experience with Enterprise integration and ETL tools. Knowledge of reporting and analytics concepts and tools. Experience in implementation projects as well as in support. Ability to accommodate travel up to 20%.

The range for this position is $123,662.00 - $170,036.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
