What we’re seeking:   

Frontier Communications is looking for a talented and passionate IT Software Solution Architect to help drive the company’s transformation to a leading digital provider of fiber internet services.  This talented individual will help drive this transformation as a key member of the Enterprise Integration team.  The role will have the opportunity to help define the vision of turning Frontier into a 100% uptime, consumer-oriented company by helping guide system direction and solutions that fulfill those goals.

This architect will be responsible for helping to drive Frontier’s API interfaces, to be best in class. They will provide architectural design for projects and should have a passion for sharing and helping the development teams to implement industry best practices and design patterns. The position will require extensive expertise and experience in middle-tier, and backend development working with multiple technologies.

What you’ll do:   

Leading the design and architecture of complex software applications and systems, ensuring that they meet the business requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and secureDefining technical strategies and roadmaps for software development projects in collaboration with other senior engineers and stakeholdersEvaluating new and emerging technologies and making recommendations on their use to improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of software applications and systemsCollaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement new featuresDeveloping and maintaining solutions architecture documents, including high-level flow diagrams, UML sequence diagrams, C4 design diagrams, ERDs, and technical specificationsProviding technical leadership and guidance to development teamsReviewing and approving solution designs, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with architectural standards and best practicesCommunicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior/executive leadershipIdentifying and mitigating technical risks associated with software development projectsParticipating in agile software development processes, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectivesContributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and toolsAbility to work across nearshore and offshore team members and flexibility with working hours

  What background you should have:   

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience6+ years of experience in software development5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex software applications Proven track record of successfully leading integration projects from conception to deliveryDeep expertise with multiple iPaaS, Integration Middleware, ESBs, and API management platforms (such as TIBCO ,MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM ESB, Kafka/RedPanda) is requiredDesign and implement API management solutions using Apigee or API Connect or open-source API Gateways.Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or others relevant to integrationIn-depth knowledge of messaging protocols, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectureExperience in evaluating and selecting integration tools, platforms, and vendorsPrevious experience in defining and implementing integration architecturesExpertise in software development methodologies such as Agile and ScrumExperience with software development tools such as Git, Jira, and JenkinsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirementsExperience with cloud-based platforms and services, preferably AWS  including distributed caching services such as RedisExperience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with distributed systems and microservices architectureExperience with major RDBMs and NoSql database technologiesExperience working on digital modernization projectsStrong leadership skills and experience leading technical projects from inception through implementation
