IT SPECIALIST (APPSW)
Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) within NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER. #LI-NAVSUPBSC Responsibilities You will be responsible for most aspects of Information Technology analysis including clarifying requirements, programming, testing, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of assigned systems or applications. You will research applicable regulations, standards, and policies governing a variety of topics such as policy, system performance, and processing conditions. You will design, develop, and modify program logic. You will ensure operating requirements are met for successful delivery of a packaged application ready for implementation. You will execute plans for the Quality Assurance (QA) of all programs for assigned systems and applications. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of applications software/systems engineering concepts and techniques to provide technical guidance in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining assigned systems/applications. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Designing, developing, and modifying program logic; 2) Utilizing knowledge of various computer languages to include but not limited to: SQL, COBOL, .NET, JAVA, Visual Basic, Microsoft Suite, HTML, C, C#, C++, SAP, JCL, Shell Scripting, SFTP or equivalent and relational database management system technologies such as DB2, Oracle, Data Warehouse or equivalent; 3) Navigating and managing database records using a data manipulation tool such as TOAD, SQL Developer or equivalent; and 4) Providing technical guidance and assistance to customers, sponsor, user representatives, Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs), and IT personnel regarding a wide variety of IT matters related to special projects, unique maintenance problems, and development of technical documents. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
