Responsibilities You will support Technical Sustainment Support, Modernization Support, Logistics Support, and Sustainment Engineering. You will respond to on-board technical assists as directed by the CB-ISEA Service Manager and Service Delivery Managers. You will assist and accomplish System Operational Verifications Tests (SOVTs) as necessary and gather metrics to perform trend analysis to determine root causes of casualties. You will determine if issues found on board CND ships are implementation issues / baseline issues/ or sustainment issues. You will will provide on-the-job training for technicians, NAVWAR Fleet Systems Engineers, and shipboard technicians. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) concepts, design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance of electronic equipment. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Governing IT activities and resolving conflict and solving problems across tasks, to include working with customers. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Facilitating successful execution of IT projects/tasks through teamwork and inclusion. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Assessing policy needs and developing policies to resolve conflict and solve problems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of qualifying experience equivalent in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating the following: 1) Developing installation plans, performing analysis of ongoing shipboard and shipyard work, and managing corrective action to bring work back on schedule. 2) Troubleshooting and analyzing system performance on C4ISR systems in both Testing and Operational phases. 3) Evaluating methods and procedures and preparing recommendations for changes in methods and practices to senior leadership. 4) Collaborating across Government/Military/Contractor boundaries and with different commands to build and foster teams to accomplish overall objectives related to ship modernization and maintenance. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed. This position performs a primary Cyber work role, per the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework. This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position and as condition of employment, incumbents of the position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT /CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include:- Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate wit the scope of major assigned duties for the position assigned, and; - Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning, annually document in a current individual development plan, signed by both the employee and supervisor. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
